Dean Raybould - Current Works

Dean has worked as an artist in commercial and contemporary avenues since leaving school.

His paintings mix texture with fine detail and environmental concerns with social issues. Backgrounds may be abstract while on the surface highly detailed figurative subjects interact with ambiguous typography.

Stylistically, Dean says he jumps around a lot which helps blur his creative boundaries and blends nicely with his assertion that t humour has a place in “serious” art, as a means to deliver ideas and to defuse the perception of taking a high moral and intellectual ground.

Ultimately Dean thinks of his work as a visual voice, one that’s irreverent, Australian and occasionally capable of a nice turn of phrase.
