Agathe handcrafts each piece of jewellery in her home studio in sunny Nelson. Originally from France she moved here in 2019 and studied at the Dunedin School of Art.
Her jewellery is inspired by the organic aesthetic of the Abel Tasman region. By using different materials like sterling silver, brass and copper, she reflects the natural colours of the sandy beaches, low grasslands and native forests of the area. Her abstract way of showing the connection to nature by using circular forms also aims to represent the cycle of life and changes of the seasons deeply felt in New Zealand.
