Borrowed Earth Ceramics

Borrowed Earth, Whangaparaoa

Adele was between jobs when her Mum taught her how to pot.  Her Dad also caught onto her talents, giving up his treasured garage so Adele could stretch her wings and develop her own ceramic studio.

Early morning starts on a Sunday selling out of her beloved MKIII Zephyr at the local market was the start of Borrowed Earth.  Adele then had the opportunity of working in the Collis Ceramic Studio gaining a wide range of skills and knowledge about the ceramic scene and dreaming one day of making a living through her creations.

A few years later and Adele became one of the members running a craft collective in the iconic Victoria Park Market, giving her an outlet to sell from and insight into running a gift shop.
Then Richie came along. Back then he was a technician and lending a hand to Borrowed Earth when Adele needed extra help. That lending hand resulted in him leaving his job to become the other half of Borrowed Earth. Best decision ever!
Now the pair work from their purpose built studio in Whangaparaoa and together have built Borrowed Earth into the well established brand it is today.
Adele and Richie take great pride in creating new ways to share their unique view of the world honouring their Maori, Fijian and English Heritage.
